PDF to PDF/A

What PDF/A archiving requires and how to get there.

What Pdflify can and cannot do here

PDF/A is an ISO archiving standard that requires embedded fonts, colour profiles and strict metadata validation. Producing a genuinely compliant file needs a validator, so we do not claim to output PDF/A.

1. Export as PDF/A from the source app

Word, LibreOffice and InDesign all offer a PDF/A export option.

2. Clean up metadata here first

/tools/pdf-metadata-editor/ lets you set the title, author and subject that archiving systems expect.

No fake processing. This page does not pretend to convert your file. Nothing is uploaded and nothing is generated here.

Frequently asked questions

Is PDF to PDF/A free to use?

Yes. Every tool on Pdflify is free and needs no account.

Is my file uploaded anywhere?

No. This tool reads and rewrites your file inside your browser tab using JavaScript, so the document itself never leaves your device.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes. The workspace is responsive and works with touch, though very large files depend on your device's memory.

What if my PDF is password protected?

Encrypted files cannot be opened in the browser. Open the file with its password in your PDF reader, save an unprotected copy, then try again.
